Banco Del Mutuo Soccorso - ...Di Terra (1978)

::

"For me "...Di Terra" is doubtfully the best album of Banco ever (the second position has seemingly Garofano Rosso)! Fortunately this one is instrumental (without vocals) and in addition to this fact collaboration with orchestra. Personally I have heard very few so good records where band performs with orchestra. This record has some conceptually continuing main themes but has no problem in listening therefore. The conductor of the orchestra is band's keyboard player Vittorio Nocenzi himself. I think I haven't my favourite theme on this record because its wholeness. Beautiful experience!" - Rainer Rein-ProgArchives

Banco Del Mutuo Soccorso - Come In Un'Ultima Cena (1976)

::

"Another Banco's great album! If you like banco then this album is good for you. At least this fact is right for me. Come in Ultima Cena is said bibical theme but I don't feel any religeon thing from this album. One of the reason is maybe I don't understand Italian anyway the music is very much good to me and I joyfully listen to it. Except banco's first great three albums, this album will be best amoung all the other albums! And last song ' Fino Alla Mia Porta ' is very good to listen and in some reason very similar to Korea's treditional song 'ARIRANG'." - bspark-ProgArchives

Banco Del Mutuo Soccorso - Garofano Rosso (1976)

::

"This album by Banco is rather unusual. Can you imagine Genesis with Peter Gabriel making an all-instrumental album or Supertramp with no vocals ? No ? Well, Banco did just that ! And did they succeed too ! In fact, this is a soundtrack for a film of the same name directed by Luigi Faccini. The music is fantastic, never boring. The use of a variety of instruments makes it really interesting.." - silvertree-ProgArchives

Banco Del Mutuo Soccorso - Banco (1975)

::

"BANCO is an outstanding progressive band from Italy. The omnipresent tons of keyboards are really symphonic and some sound really electronic, sometimes lacking warmth: they sound like early SYNERGY ("Larry Fast") and Walter Carlos ("A Clockwork Orange Soundtrack"). Actually there are 2 keyboardists, so this record is keyboards oriented, despite the tons of complex bass and drums patterns involved. One can notice the talent of the guys on excellent piano parts. The lead singer has a friendly voice, the loud bass sounds like PFM, and it is very complex, so you should not be disappointed. The drums are very sophisticated, never the same..." - greenback-ProgArchives

Banco Del Mutuo Soccorso - Io Sono Nato Libero (1973)

::

"...They certainly had an angst to them that made them more than just your typically sunny-smiled, symphonic prog band. I think that the first two songs, "Canto Nomade per un Prigioniero Politico" and "Non Mi Rompete" stand out as easily the best on the album. "Canto Nomade" is a very successful extended suite that deeply broadened the band's sonic palette, liberally incorporating synthesizers (well, it was 1973 — the year that every progressive band seems to have learned to love synths) and diversifying the percussion. In fact, despite having some excellent organ and synthesizer passages, the most memorable parts of this track for me are the beautiful acoustic guitar interludes and the polyrhythmic percussion. "Non Mi Rompete" is largely acoustic and sports the most affecting melody on the album and some great Italian lyrics. These two tracks make up half of the album. The second half "La Cittá Sottile" and "Dopo... Niente è Piú lo Stesso" are nearly at the same level but occasionally succumb to prog-rock clichés. This is one one the greatest Italian prog releases."

Banco Del Mutuo Soccorso - Darwin! (1972)

::

"A great epic journey by this well respected legendary ITALIAN PROGRESSIVE ROCK. "Darwin" was BANCO's 2nd release and is certainly one of their most complete works of art. "Darwin" is a very expressive album and offers a wide range of tones and moods with a superb blend of classical and progressive chamber rock. "Darwin" is a heavy theatrical production which comes across as a great concept-like piece of art. Loads of great keyboard work here as you would expect and songs are exceptionally well pieced together. I love the inter-exchange of the rock ideals with the classical style BANCO mix here. Oboes, clarinet and harpicords get interwoven with synths, piano and electric guitar. The CD re-mastered version is exceptional and offers grand sound reproduction. This is a real treasure for those lovers of Italian prog rock and is also a great place to start for the young at heart."
